August FU Swap Card

Happy Monday My Blogger Friends!
Today's card share is the August FU (Fabulously Unique) swap card I received from my good friend Ann LaPerre......and also my August swap card.  Our theme for August was Fun in the Sun and our colors were Brown, Yellow and Blue.  Here is the card that Ann created......
If the sand looks like real sand....well it IS!  I think she used sandpaper to create her beach image (and castle).......
And she added Crystal Effects for the edge of the water and the water in the bucket....
And she added three dimensional starfish and sand dollars at the base of her castle.
Just love all the amazing and fun details that went into creating Ann's card.
My card was made with the HoneyComb embossing folder using More Mustard cardstock.  I used the Sizzlits Leaf Die with Garden Green cardstock......and I also used a small piece of Bake Brown Sugar cardstock for my sentiment.
Here's a close-up of my honeycomb embossed cardstock......
And the real magic came from the Crystal Effects that was added to a few small portions of the honeycomb pieces.
The flowers came together using the Boho Blossom Punch and my sentiment was pulled together with a cute "I'll bee here for you" message that was in my stamp stash.  And there you have it friends.......my version of the color and theme combination for my August FU swap card.

Thanks for joining me today!  I'll be back tomorrow to share my August SBS Challenge Card with you.......Hope you can make plans to stop back and join me for that share.  Keep Living Your Dream!

WOW...These are great cards. Now who would have thought to use a real piece of sandpaper on a card. Very, very nice effect. I absolutely love how she used the crystal effects for the water. Really, really neat.

Gosh...I guess I still have a lot to learn with the crystal effects. I love your card with the honeycomb and how you used the crystal effects in it to look like the honey. The flowers are a pretty addition and I love the handwritten sentiment. How sweet!

It's nice for you to be able to enjoy your family too along with a nice SU vacation. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing!
