Happy Monday My Blogger Friends!
Today is Mix It UP! Monday and I have an upgraded version of the card I shared with you yesterday. I used the exact same product that was used to create yesterday's card ....... but added a couple additional products (found in the 2015-2016 Stampin' UP! Annual Catalog) to bring this card up to the next stamping level.
Thanks for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow to share a 3-D Tuesday project with you ........ Hope you can make plans to stop back and join me for that share. Keep Living Your Dream!
Here is my Spot-Light Sunday card on the left.....
And my Mix-It-UP! Monday card on the right....
Today's upgraded version of yesterday's card brings a HAPPY SMILE to my face every single time I look at it.
I started out by creating the same balloons as I did yesterday but I added some extra dimension around the outer edge of each balloon to give them a special little curve.
Each of my balloons had the same Melon Mambo/Basic Black Baker's Twine added to them ...... And then all bunched together and tied up in a pretty bow at the bottom of my card.
I used White embossing powder to create my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment banner.....
And added that banner right below my balloons.
And one last addition to this card was using the 'Lucky Star' embossing folder on my Melon Mambo panel before adhering it to my Whisper White base card.
So there you have it friends ....... A fun upgrade to an already perfect happy birthday card from yesterday. Which one do you like? Thanks for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow to share a 3-D Tuesday project with you ........ Hope you can make plans to stop back and join me for that share. Keep Living Your Dream!
Love the little curved edge for added dimension!
ReplyDeleteWith a little more practice......I'll have this technique MASTERED!
ReplyDeleteHi Kadie, Thank you for all the work you put into your website and posts. It is appreciated. How did you make the curved edges on the balloons?? I'm struggling with this great technique. Thank you ~ joanne from palm springs, ca

Hi Joanne! To create the curved edges on my balloons al I did was grab my White Gel Pen and a foam pad. I used the backside of my Designer Series Paper (DSP) and rubbed my White Gel Pen (with the cap on) around the outer edges of the DSP. This created an indent on the wrong side of the DSP and when I turned the DSP over, the right side of the DSP had an indented edge. All that is left to do is add Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (pop-dots) to the backside so the balloon edges stay raised up.
Hope this helps. Yell back if you need clarification. It's a fun technique that is starting to pop up all over the internet.
