2010-2011 SU Idea Book & Catalog

It's official - the 2010-2011 Stampin Up Idea Book and Catalog has arrived. After I tore my envelope to pieces trying to get to my early released copy - I just had to tag all the MUST HAVE items and then thought it was time to Bind my copy. Here is the final results of my Bind-It-All project...... I used my Bind-it-All and bound my idea book and catalog right out of the gates. I love how the Bind-it-All allows the catalog to lay flat on any surface.

And what the entire binding section looks like. I decided to bind my book in three setions of six binding rings - I not only like the way that looks but I also have a much better track record of pulling off the look then trying to do the entire spine of my catalog.

And the original box when my favorite Mr Brown Delivery Man dropped it off at my door. Needless to say, I was waiting at the door so my delightful package never had the opportunity to sit at my door - It truly was hand deliveried by Mr. Brown.

Kris Holmes Brayer Class

One of the benefits of belonging to the SaddleBrooke Stampers Group is the Fabulous "Fun Shops" that Kris Holmes organizes EVERY month. Kris puts a HUGE amount of energy into putting these FUN SHOPS together for the SaddleBrooke Stampers and today I would like to personally THANK her for all the work she puts into keeping these going (you really do an amazing job Kris-THANK YOU!). Last month, Kris and Sandy offered a Fun Shop in brayering and since I have very little experience using my Brayer (I know, I know.......I just had to have the Brayer....and it's one of those things that when my husband says to me.....Did you buy that product so some other women couldn't buy it.......well.......it probably was the truth in my purchase of the brayer)......... Here I created a fabulous Sunset Brayer image and after it was created I realized, I had created the perfect sympathy card. I added the "with heartfelt sympathy" and I had a sympathy card done and hopefully NEVER have to be used (but then again......living in SaddleBrooke does require one to be prepared.......)

Here is my sympathy card all finished. I even had enough to make an extra sympathy card and again.......hoping to NOT have to use it for some time.

The second brayer card I created was using a technique Kris and Sandy taught us to make waves or sand........I made this card especially for my little grandson Bodie - who lives in the San Diego area and LOVES to go down to the beach and surf with his dad Gabe.

Kris let me borrow her SU surfer stamp - and I actually got it positioned to look like the Surfer Dude was riding one of the waves......

This was one of those classes that once I got home - I had to keep trying to create and with enough experience - I too have become somewhat knowledgeable in brayering. It was a fun class and really thank Kris and Sandy for all their help and all the samples they made for us to have as guides along the way.

Father's Day Wallets

Today I want to share with you the Father's Day wallets I made for my Jack and my four son-in-laws in June. I taught this class the weekend before Father's Day for my SaddleBrooke Stamping Club and it was a BIG BIG HIT. I had picked up the idea fro the Candian Stamper and have to say they turned out perfectly.

The base of the wallet is just a piece of brown card stock that has been paper pierced around the outside edges to give it a stitched look. I then added a small monogram piece in the bottom right hand corner with their initial stamped out.

On the inside I added pockets so I could add four pictures of their family members to the inside pockets - and the largest pocket was in place of where they would put their dollar bills and that is where I added my Father's Day wishes to them.

They turned out perfectly and each one was created espeically for them with many family photo's for them to look at.

Here is a close up of the paper piercing and monogram tag - as you can see, I distressed the edges of the monogram to give it a "used" look.

I had FUN creating these wallets and for Jack's I added in the dollar bill section a listing of all the birthday's for the year broken down to each month......A quick resource for him to see who's birthday/anniversary is happening that monthy. HE LOVED HIS wallet.

Bunny HOP.....HOP......HOP

Okay, Okay.........I know I promised I would share with you some pics of the creations I've been working on in June and July.....but just had to post these pictures I took of the Bunny action that was going on outside my studio window. I was busy in my studio creating some fabulous cards and I kept hearing this noise right outside my window and when I got up to look what was going on - well I spotted these two bunnies on my sidewalk. They were just tiny little bunnies and I have NO IDEA if they were playing or fighting......they were really making some serious hissssssing sounds.

They each took turns standing up and down and then I was lucky enough to get this next picture in flight.......

The one bunny took off and charged the bunny on the left and that bunny FLEW up in the air and when he came down he hit the ground about two feet from where he started and was flying in the opposite direction (running like there was NO TOMORROW). I have NO IDEA if they were PLAYING or FIGHTING. If someone out there knows, can you share with me. Would love to know what this action was all about.

Have to say that my grandkids will really enjoy this post.......They ask me every time I chat with them if I've seen any more critter action in my yard - so they will be happy to see that I've had some action going on and actually caught it on film.

Last Weekends Get Away

Sorry it has taken me a couple extra days to get my blog back on track - but, when you do a scrappin get away like I did this past weekend......well.....It truly took me three extra days to recover from all the SHOPPING we did (wait....didn't I say we were getting away to scrapbook??????). Let me start out by saying......we packed the SUV really tight....... NO.....this wasn't how we looked driving down the road.....(We just couldn't resist taking a photo of this family traveling South on Hwy 10)

Here we are in all our glory - and yes......we were packed TIGHT from floor to ceiling with our scrapbooking supplies and a motorized shopping machine.

Here we are checking into our "Home Base" for the weekend. We had a fabulous two bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen area - and plenty of room for two additional scrappin friends to join us.......

And my station all set up and ready to begin a FUN weekend of scrappin.....SO I THOUGHT!

We ended up doing about three full hours of scrapbooking and the rest of time was spent in the car ....... shopping for some amazing deals in the Phoenix area. It reached over a 110 degrees and we truly went from A/C car to A/C shopping centers. We hit all four Hobby Lobby's (I KNOW - I KNOW....what could possibly be at the third and fourth Hobby Lobby that wasn't at the first two.....) the Michael's - Joann's and Container Store....along with book stores and LOTS of great places to eat.

All in all.....it was a weekend to be remembered! I'm going to seriously try to get a group of ladies together in the Fall to do a scrappin retreat at this same place (two can share this fabulous suite for just a little over $80 a night and you could always include a third person to split the cost by putting one out in the living room area on the sofa sleeper). Think it would be a BLAST to get away with some of my favorite scrappin/cardmaking gals and get some SERIOUS scrappin done.

July Inchies

Today is my SaddleBrooke Stampers meeting and we will be exchanging our Inchies for July. Our theme this month is faces and our optional technique is chalkin. Here's what I created: I stamped on a 1"x1" EcoArt Board (by Rubber Stamp Concepts) a face using the Sizzix clear stamp set "Dress Up Faces" by Stu Kilgour. I then added some SU Pixie Pink Chalk to make the cheeks rosie.

This one I added 1/8" Sticky Stripe to the edges and dipped it into purple micro beads.......TOO CUTE for words.

The rest of them I used the 1/8" sticky stripe tape around the edges and layed purple foil over that and rubbed the foil into place.

Here's all 16 of my cute little faces all ready to be handed out at today's meeting.

Craftnooners Cupcake Card

Today.....I'll be sharing with you my card I had the Craftnooner Ladies make during our June gathering. HOW CUTE IS THIS........ It's a Birthday CupCake card made with my Big Shot....I used my BigZ die to cut out the cupcake and the envelope to slot my birthday message.

As you can tell.....I put the cupcake on top of the envelope with SU dimensionals and added a ribbon around the envelope for a little POP and then added my message to the envelope with a ribbon pull at the top.

Here's a close-up of the card.........Have to say that it's one of those FUN - CHEERFUL card that I'm sure anyone who is celebrating a birthday would love to have waiting in their mailbox.

I'm not sure if I'll have another post ready until Monday. I'm heading up to Phoenix tomorrow morning with my LONG TIME BFF from Wisconsin. We have been planning a girls retreat weekend up in Phoenix and we plan to spend the entire weekend PLAYING - SHOPPING - SCRAPBOOKING - EATING - LAUGHING - and just HANGIN OUT. We have reserved a fabulous suite and it's set-up to allow us to set-up camp in the living room area and have a seperate room to sleep in. This will allow whoever doesn't want to stay up till 2 or 3am (you know me......I'll be up late.....) a place to crash. Should be a FABULOUS weekend with my BFF Nancy and we are hoping that we can both get LOTS of pages finished as we are both SO FAR BEHIND in our scrapbooking.
