Pop n' Cuts Treat Box

Happy Friday My Blogger Friends!
It's Day 15 of my Hummingbird update......
So my little hummers have finally begun wing movement!  Momma comes and feeds them and when she's done.......they reach up and start flapping their wings.  It's only a matter of time now!  You can really see by this picture that Spike has just about outgrown the nest......and Gizmo is enjoying the warmth of not only his nest-mate....but also the 104 degree weather we are having here in Tucson.  I'm pretty ready for my little hummers to leave the nest and FLY!

My project share for today is a FUN Pop n' Cuts Treat Box that Karen Reid (fellow SW Stamper demonstrator) shared at our May demonstrators meeting.  Check out this SUPER FUN Box......
Karen shared how to make this treat box by using the Pop n' Cuts Base die and creating an insert for the inside of your holder.
To create the outside holder.......You cut your DSP or Cardstock using the Pop n' Cuts Base Die.  You then put the flat end on the left side of your Simply Scored Tool and score at 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 4-1/2", 6-1/2", 8-1/2" and 9-1/2".   Next you fold "IN" on all your score lines EXCEPT the two end scores.  Those you will fold "OUT".  Your last step for creating the outside holder is to use the Large Oval Punch to create your handle.
To create the Box Insert.........Start with a 8-1/4" x 6" piece of coordinating cardstock.  On the 8-1/4" side you will score at 2" and 6-1/4".  On the 6" side you will score at 2" and 4".  On the long sides, cut up fold lines to horizontal fold lines.  Cut tabs to about 1/2".  Put Sticky Strip on both tabs and secure to create your box insert.  Add Sticky Strip to the bottom center panel of your holder and position your box insert onto the Sticky Strip.  Your Pop n' Cuts Treat Box is completed.

All that is left to do is decorate the outside of your holder and maybe add a piece of ribbon through your handles to secure your holder closed.

BUT.........MANY THANKS to Karen for sharing this project with our SW Stampers Group.

Thanks for joining me today.....I'm back tomorrow with another new card share - Hope you can make plans to stop back and join me for that share.  Keep Living Your Dream!

  1. Wow....I can see his wing and yes - it does look like they are ready to bust out. I bet it will be fun watching them try to fly and 'Goldie' trying to keep up with them. Once they are on the ground, I wonder if they will hop around for a bit.

The carry box is really neat. I like how the flap fits in to the slots. I love the bling too and the marker stitching. Great job and thank you so much for sharing!

  2. Hey! That carry box is an excellent idea! You should continue to show that with seasonal colors/themes because people who own that die will likely forget that you can do this!!

  5. Anonymous: The base of the box is from the SU Catalog (Page 188). It's the Card Base Pop 'n Cuts Bigz die. Hope this helps!
