In-Color Sketch Book

Happy Tuesday My Blogger Friends!
Day 19 of my Hummingbird Update......
It's looking like Spike is ready to leave the nest.  He is sitting up on the edge of the nest and shaking his wings and totally out of the nest.  Gizmo on the other hand is still sitting in the nest.....and probably enjoying the extra room with Spike out of the nest.
Here's Spike scoping out the back yard.......
And a little clearer pic of Spike on the Right and Gizmo on the left.  I have to take my pictures now at a distance.....as I don't want to spook either one of them and have them take flight before they are totally ready.

My project share for today is a decorated sketch book.  I was inspired by Erin Gonzales who had shared a similar project from her Hostess Appreciation Event in May.  Here is my take on this sketch book.......
I purchased a plan sketch book and covered the front and the back with Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.
I used the Flower Garden embossing folder and created a very detailed and beautiful center panel for the front of my sketch book.   I added two layered butterflies and one bitty butterfly to my center panel and added some rhinestones for a little bling.
Here's a close-up of not only the embossed Flower Garden panel....but also my beautiful butterflies.
To spot-light the OH SO PRETTY new In-Colors.....I created five In-Color flags and attached each of them to the backside of my Flower Garden center panel.
This project turned out SOOOOOOOO much better than I had expected.......and would like to thank Erin for her Hostess Appreciation Event idea.

Thanks for joining me today.....I'll be back tomorrow with another new card creation.......Hope you can make plans to stop back and join me.  Keep Living Your Dream!

  2. WOW....Taking the picture of the hummers from a distance really gives it prospective. It is so small that I'm surprised you found the nest. I'm just in awe. Thank you so much for sharing.

Double WOW....I am in awe of your card also. The color combination and the layout is fabulous. I love the little banners sticking out the side. What a great idea!!! Again, thank you so much for sharing!

  3. What two colors did you use on the butterflies? I looked at my samples of the 2013-15 in colors and they don't look anything like yours. Thanks. Laura in NH

  4. Laura: For the butterflies I used Crisp Cantaloupe AND Calypso Coral. The flags on the side are the five new In-Colors (Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana). Hope this helps! Kadie
